Unlike the raw stones, this one comes carved: a 5 cm shungite pyramid, the black stone tradition places in the space rather than on you.
💎 What is shungite?
Shungite is a carbon-rich rock, black, with a sheen running from matt to almost metallic depending on the variety and the polish. It is mined mainly in Karelia, in north-west Russia, the usual source of the material on the market. Here it is worked into a pyramid, a cut tradition associates with concentrating and projecting. You will also see it written shungit: it is the same mineral.
✨ Attributed properties
Shungite is credited with protecting a space, which is the reason it has become so popular.
- Protecting a space
- Near electronic devices
- Places where you spend hours: desk, bedroom
- Grounding
- Clearing the air of a heavy room
🌙 The best time to work with it
It is best worked on a New Moon🌑 or a Waning Moon🌘. The new moon is the phase the workshop links to protection and the waning moon to clearing a space: this piece works both. Place it and leave it: it is a piece for the space, not for carrying.
How to use it
This is a piece to place, not to carry. The usual spots are the desk, next to the computer or router, the bedside table and the front door. Leave it base down with the point upwards. If you want a ritual use, set it at the point of the house where the air feels heaviest and pair it with a black or white candle.
🤝 Pairs well with
With black tourmaline, the other reference stone for protection and grounding, placing one in each area. With clear quartz to balance the clearing. And with hawk's eye if you want to add the vision side.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it leave black marks?
Because it is carbon. It is normal for a new piece to leave a black residue on the hands or on the surface, and it lessens with use. If it bothers you, wipe it with a dry cloth before placing it and stand it on a small dish.
Is the shungite polished or matt?
Shungite's sheen varies from piece to piece, between matt and almost metallic. Being a natural stone, no two pyramids are exactly alike.
Where should I put it?
Where you spend the most hours or where there are the most devices: desk, work table, bedside table or front door. It is a piece for the space, meant to stay in one spot.

🧼 Cleaning and care
Clean it with a dry cloth. Shungite is carbon: at first it can leave a black residue on your hands or on the surface you rest it on, and that lessens with use. Avoid salt water and knocks to the edges and the point, the most exposed part of the pyramid.
